1968 Plymouth GTX 2 Door Hardtop
This 1968 Plymouth GTX 2 door hardtop was a complete restoration project that started with with the removal of the interior & drive train.
Replaced components included:
- Rear frame rails
- Complete front and rear floor pans
- Rear trunk floor replaced with floor extensions
- Inner and outer tubs
- Front fenders doors
- Rocker panels & Quarter panels
- Rear spring supports & rear cross rail ext
All sheet metal was professionally MIG welded following proper procedures using weld thru primers and etch priming all bare metal after metal prep was completed.
After the completion of the body work, the car was done in a high build primer block and then sanded, primed and re-sanded. A sealer coat was then applied.
The top coat and clear were applied using the Nexa waterborne paint systems and Nexa autocolors clear coat. There were three coats of clear coat applied. Each sanded with 800 grit then recoated with two more coats of clear coat.
The entire interior was replaced. The drive train – motor redone,balanced 4 speed totally rebuilt, posi rebuilt. All chrome replaced new and re-chroming wasdone when OEM was not available
